Grief Encounter has an online chat service for children and young people, Grieftalk, Mon-Fri 9am-9pm, with trained counsellors, available via their website, as well as a phoneline 0808 802 0111.

At a Loss has a phoneline 01524 782910, or an online chat service, Grief Chat, available via their website available for young people and adults.

SAMM (Support after Murder or Manslaughter) helps people who have lost loved ones through murder or manslaughter, this includes a helpline  0121 472 2912, and support via their website.

_#Knifefree provides support and advice for young people and parents affected by the knife-carrying culture. It includes stories and advice for young people affected by knife culture and provides links for further support.

The Mix is a resource for unders 25s – covering all aspects affecting the safety, and physical and mental health of young people. It includes a phoneline 0808 808 4994, online one-to-one-chat and a crisis messaging service.

Victim Support has specialist teams who deliver tailored support to help people recover from the effects of crime and traumatic events. They speak up for victims’ rights, ensuring their needs are met in the criminal justice system. Helpline 08 08 16 89 111.

Occasionally, in our meetings, discussions include the ways in which young (and older) people are vulnerable. Below are some helpful agencies to support people facing particular vulnerabilities.

Mind offers a range of resources to help, if you’re concerned for your own or someone else’s mental health.

YoungMinds provides support for young people, and gives advice to parents supporting young people, in all aspects of their mental health.

Samaritans have a 24-hour helpline, 116 123, dedicated to preventing suicide. For anyone feeling that they have nowhere to turn, they provide support, beginning with a phone call or online request.

The Survivors Trust is an organisation which encompasses a variety of services who work with victims and survivors of all ages, all genders, of all forms of sexual violence, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation, including support for partners and family members. Helpline: 08088 010 818.

NAPAC (The National Association for People Abused in Childhood) is the UK’s leading national charity offering support to adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse, including physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. Helpline 0808 801 0331.
