At our meeting on 5 November we heard from family and friends of Eugene Attram, who lost his life to knife crime on 4 November 2006.
Eugene’s mother, sister and friends recalled his vibrant life, and the pain of his death, and gave a moving call for forgiveness as the way to healing alongside the pain.
The loss of the life of Joseph Marafini a week earlier in the centre of Wandsworth was remembered, and a silence held while 14 candles were lit, representing the 14 years since Eugene’s death and the 14 teenage lives lost to knife crime in London so far in 2020.
A number of people on the call spoke honestly about the pain and anguish in their own experience.
