Join us at our next RTK meeting at 7.30pm on Thursday 7 April. In our remembrance time, we will focus on Lewis Elwin, who died, aged 20, in April 2016. We’ll also hear from Fearless, part of Crimestoppers, about their work and there will be an update on RTK’s latest project in a local PRU.

We met on Thursday 3 March, in person, and via Zoom. In a change to plans, in response to distressing social media videos of incidents in Wandsworth, Police Neighbourhoods Inspector, Jonathan Lloyd, joined us to talk about this and answer questions. We also heard from the amazing P4YE project in Croydon.

On Thursday 3 February via Zoom, we heard about a couple of projects that contribute to equipping children and young people for the challenges they face as they increase in independence. Dawn Gibbons, a local magistrate talked about her brand new project for primary schools, and JAGS Foundation explained their girls’ project.

On Thursday 2 December we remembered Jermaine Goupall, and heard about the Justice For Jermaine Foundation. Established following the loss of the life of Jermaine Goupall through knife crime, it works to positively impact the lives of young people and help prevent knife crime.

On Thursday, 4 November, Lydia Lawrence movingly shared her story as a survivor of knife crime, as well as talking about her work as an anti knife crime campaigner and her involvement in The Narrative Empowerment Project. See her story on our highlights page.

On Thursday 7 October, we heard about their work, and the passion that inspires it, from members of JCT (Just Come Together). Read on to see more, or visit our highlights page to see them talk bout their work.

At our last evening on Zoom we welcomed Shaq and Keiron from Big Belly Kitchen and shared reactions about the art installation in Southside (which has since come to the end of its exhibiting period).

On Thursday 6 May we heard about two fantastic creative projects. One was by the Penificent team, who use comics and digital art to address knife crime, and the other a visual artist, Eugene Ankomah, who uses a wide range of artistic media to highlight the issue. On 1 April at 7.30pm our speaker was Christie Spurling, founder of N-Gage charity.  We heard a bit about his own story and he described his work in Manchester to help support young people.
